It was rainy and foggy and well, that particular fireworks just didn't live up to its promise. The next day was an inpromptu pool party in your yard and as I recall all the fireworks went off as anticipated. The only ones in attendance were you and D2, Trav and Gae, BooBoo and her husband and myself. It was sunny and in the mid 80s. I was in my old Cadillac convertible. Dinner was great and the house beautiful! Do NOT obsess about the chair. Look at it this way, there is now a spot near the stair case that has been wiped clean!!! [img]smile.gif[/img]
We weren't really in the dining room all at once for very long, so there was a seat available if the boy wanted it.

* I'm a graduate level student in accounting, a profession designed to keep track of things.
* I've spent the last two weeks in Citizen on Patrol class, where one of the key tenants is to be aware of your surroundings.
* I'm becoming more and more like my parents, and not always in the good ways. It kind of worries me.
Sorry about the dog, but I think all those people occupying the space he normally calls his own really stressed him out. Both conked out immediately after everyone left. The fiesty one uncharacteristically fell asleep right in my lap. If you couldn't tell, he's particularly attached to me.
I'd put their bed and toys in the basement, but they persisted in barking and gae ordered me to release them.

Don't be so hard on yourself. You were doing something you don't normally do...entertaining. It was new and I am sure you will not make the same mistakes again! Miscounting people/chairs is not a big deal...unless you are a flight attendant...and then folks might get angry with you. Miscounting my money is also a bad thing...unless it is in my favor! [img]smile.gif[/img]
I would have ordered you to release the dogs as well! They were good...mine are about the same...they don't always like the excitement, but they manage. Isn't it nice when they get all tuckered out? Yet another reason to have us over more often!!! [img]biggrin.gif[/img]
I had a very full week last week and I was overwhelmed and stressed. I actually took a half day vacation on Friday just to get caught up. Hadn't even begun to do my accounting homework (which I find difficult), and I stripped the paint off my neighbor's windows and I'm worried I won't get to it before it gets cold. I just got sick of looking at it, and since I really don't care what they think of me, I finally just asked if I could paint it. And in typical fashion, I'm running 5 other home improvement projects at the same time. The bookstore didn't have all the books necessary for my class, so I was peeved about that. My new laptop arrived and I had to go pick it up at a friend's house and I haven't had any time to look at it, much less set up the internet connection or go up to UC and get the rest of the software. AT&T dropped the ball again on my $1,200 refund and it didn't arrive Saturday like they promised and I even waited around (it finally arrived yesterday), plus an all day family reunion...I was a bundle of nerves! Then I realized I didn't even have enough knives for everyone because I tend to throw them away in pizza boxes, so I had to go to Sam's and buy cheapies. Didn't have enough plates either, so I bought those too (it was overdue, I admit). I mean like could I be more unprepared? And the dogs were stinky, because Kook likes to forage for snakes along the back wall and along the fence and gets her face all dirty. Doogar, I'm not sure how he gets stinky, but he does. And with work, I'm still irked about the French bank incident, thinking, "can this get any more looney?" I'm storing power tools on my kitchen counter and I'm thinking, "FOOD is supposed to go here tonight?" I'm crazy-wacky, I'm telling you! Just a scary peek into my scattered mind.
